On Friday, Waterford Officers arrested a man and a woman living at the Oakdell Motel on Route 85 after stopping their car near there and finding several hundred bags of heroin packaged for sale.

Police also found an undisclosed amount of cash in the car. A child was also in the vehicle. It was not clear whether the child was related to the man or woman.

Edison Santiago, 33, of Room 7 at the motel, and Dawn Williams, 37, of Room 12 at the motel, were charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a minor.

Santiago was also charged with criminal impersonation, failure to drive right and driving without a license. He was remanded to the state Department of Parole, while Williams was held on a $50,000 bond.
